Another Day, Another Year

Hey readers!

Can you believe how many posts I wrote in 2013?! Mind-blowing, right?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Sadly, this truly is turning into a yearly blog! I can't believe it. Well, I can—because I know me, but that's horrible! I have so many ideas of what I want to write about, but then life gets in the way and I figure it will take "too much time". And when I DO have good intentions, I end up spending my time catching up on posts from fellow bloggers that I don't even know—and you know how that goes. They seem to blog so well (and at the drop of a hat!), and for some, they throw all grammar out the window! Capital letters, schmapital letters. Amazing! I can't let myself do that. I can't. Not even in a text. I am my own grammar police!

So then I'm left sitting here in January of each new year, typing guiltily, mind you. At least I'm drinking delicious coffee in my new IKEA reindeer mug and sitting next to my kitchen Christmas tree (fondly called my "sweets tree" because it's decorated in everything having to do with sugar). It's not that bad I guess. ;)

And yes, it's after Christmas and I still have TWO Christmas trees up. And all of my decorations. It's too fun and Christmas is my favorite. Random story, we got an insanely late start on decorating for Christmas in 2012 that we decided to leave our trees up until March last year! Haters will hate, but seriously, I wasn't the one looking out my window during the February blizzard with no Christmas tree to stand next to.

Anyway, back to what I was talking about. I hopped on here without a plan of what to write. If you can believe it, I do have drafts typed out, but they're not quite done and ready to be out on the blog. See, that's me—"taking a lot of time" to write something. I just need to get over the fact that not every post has to be perfect or perfectly thought out. Like this one. I feel incredibly haphazard at the moment, but that's good, right? If it were all in lower case letters, I would feel entirely out of my comfort zone but I’d probably be done by now and have hit the publish button already!

I just wanted to check in. I have plans. I do.

It's quite alright if you've given up hope, haha. I'll just have to surprise you (and myself) this year! :)

Hey, I've already unblocked my library card (after years) and am reading my 5th book since December, so trust me, there IS hope for this blog!

My coffee is almost gone. I guess that's my cue.

Thanks for reading :)
