When I was little, I had an obsession with cash registers, playing store, and saving EVERY single cent of money I received!
Before the age of 12, I had the grand idea of setting up a real "store" in our house! I would market my weekend pop-up shops by telling my family members all of the details days beforehand. I would have all the goods they NEEDED—stickers, gum, erasers, crayons, etc. I took treasure hunting around my room very seriously. You name it, I would have it for you.
While saving money was still important to me as I got older, I began to release my grasp of it as my mom frequently brought me along on her thrifting adventures! I quickly discovered my newfound obsession of perusing racks and shelves overflowing with scores of secondhand items! Purchasing thrifted items and giving them new life within my own closet and living spaces became a lifelong and rewarding pursuit!
I'd say not too much has changed—although I've found new places to treasure hunt, I'm sharing my unique finds and my passion of thrifting with others, my phone is my cash register, and my pop-up shop has matured in its inventory and migrated to Poshmark!
